Kim Nichols, MA, LMFT
Kim Nichols is a licensed marriage and family therapist. She received her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pfeiffer University. Originally from Michigan, Mrs. Nichols has lived in North Carolina for several years. She is also a graduate of Western Michigan University, where she earned a master’s degree in English/Professional Writing, a bachelor’s degree in Communications, Arts and Sciences, and Professional Education Certification, kindergarten through eighth grade.
Mrs. Nichols has extensive experience working in healthcare, community, and in school settings. She supervises, mentors, and serves as a community liaison for health professional, graduate, and undergraduate students in academic institutions. She also provides professional counseling and spiritual support for individuals within faith-based congregations.
Mrs. Nichols works with individuals across the lifespan. She has served as a co-located mental health therapist for adolescents in school settings and provides personal growth counseling for young adults. Although her clinical approach is strength-based and eclectic, her theoretical orientation is systemic. She also uses Cognitive Behavioral, Experiential, Narrative, and Solution-Focused therapies.
Mrs. Nichols sees clients virtually, on weekdays and during evening hours by appointment. During the first visit, she reviews forms, asks questions, listens, and establishes a therapeutic alliance with her clients. Mrs. Nichols believes individuals have the tools to solve their own problems, when focused in the right direction. Therefore, she works with clients to determine which therapeutic approach fits their situation and who they are as a person.
