Anthony F. Greene, PhD

Anthony F. Greene, PhD, is a Clinical and Health Psychologist, and is currently a professor in the Clinical Psychology doctoral program of Fielding Graduate University, and an emeritus faculty member of Counseling Psychology at the University of Florida. He is licensed as a psychologist in Florida and North Carolina. He obtained his bachelor’s degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1977, his Master of Arts in Physical Education from the University of Florida in 1979, and his doctorate in Clinical & Health Psychology from the University of South Florida in 1988. Dr. Greene was Assessment Coordinator at a large university Counseling Center for most of his career, where he provided psychodiagnostic assessments and intervention with university students and staff. Dr. Greene has numerous professional publications in multicultural psychology and health psychology. His clinical and research interests include men and masculinity, health psychology, interpersonal violence, multicultural competence, eco-psychology and mentoring. He has been recognized for his community service and mentoring over the past 40 years. He has often been called on for his public speaking, presenting to diverse audiences about Internal Environmental Locus of Control (the psychological component of sustainability behaviors), Mental Health and the Black Community, or other related topics. He has been a visual artist all of his life, and loves drawing, painting and other creative endeavors. His tagline is “It ain’t easy being Greene” and he is obsessed with all things green, and believes it to be more than a color, but a way of life that promotes growth, health, life, prosperity, wealth, sustainability, and wellness.
