Melanie Melton, MA, LMFT, ThM, MDiv

Melanie, a native of Texas, is committed and passionate in supporting others as they walk their journey of being Well. Melanie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Family Community Services from East Carolina University and Master of Marriage Family Therapy degree from Appalachian State University. She also earned her Master of Divinity degree from Shaw University Divinity School and Master of Theology degree from Duke Divinity School.
Melanie is a North Carolina Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (since 2011) and an
Ordained Minister. She has also served as a Chaplain Intern within a local hospital, providing
pastoral care. Melanie has provided psychotherapy, beginning with providing volunteer crisis counseling since 2005. She has provided crisis counseling, individual, couples, family, and group therapy in outpatient, home-based, school-based, and virtual settings. She holds certifications and provides trauma-informed therapy, including EMDR and Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as appropriate. Melanie also provides Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and other therapy modalities, based on each individual’s needs.
Melanie creates and provides workshops for teens, young adults, and adults related to mental health, life coping skills, child abuse, trauma, grief, loss, and healing.
Currently via telehealth, Melanie primarily works with tweens, teens, young adults, and adults ranging from individuals, couples, to families, and addressing challenges including:

Melanie is a huge proponent of self-care and enjoys quality time with loved ones, time in nature, enjoying music, and watching Dallas Cowboys and ECU Pirates football.
