Laura moved to the Durham area on July 4th, 2014 after spending 7 years in San Francisco. Originally from Long Beach, New York she spent her childhood and teenage years between Charleston, SC and Savannah, GA. She moved out to California in 2005 and after spending two years in the Inland Empire, an hour east of L.A., she vacationed in San Francisco and fell in love with the city. After meeting her fiancé and realizing they were ready to start their lives together they decided to move to the Durham/Chapel Hill area.
After spending 10 years in various office setting she realized her true calling is not in office administration but in Social Work. She is currently attending Durham Technical Community College to receive her Associate in Arts so she can transfer to North Carolina State University to receive her Bachelors in Social Work. The end goal of the 8 year plan is to attend University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s School of Social Work and become an LCSW.
Laura is passionate about mental health and getting help to those who need it.
When she isn’t helping around the office at The Armstrong Center for Hope she is probably at home watching the news or Netflix with her fiancé and two cats. She also enjoys going to the movies, keeping up with pop culture and exploring all of the wonderful trails that criss-cross this beautiful area of North Carolina.
