Kristen Bell Hughes, Ph.D., LP
Kristen Vaughn Bell Hughes, Ph.D., LP is a 2014 graduate of the School Psychology doctoral program at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has over 15 years of experience working with children and families within the Durham community. Prior to entering UNC-Chapel Hill’s doctoral program, Kristen earned her Master’s in Psychology from North Carolina Central University, as well as her Master’s in Teaching and Bachelor’s in English and Psychology from UNC-Chapel Hill. She taught middle school English within Durham Public Schools for 6 years and has always gotten her greatest joy from seeing and working with youth to help them achieve their goals. Throughout her graduate training, Kristen has worked in a variety of therapeutic settings including public schools, research clinics and hospitals. As a mother, wife, educator and dancer, Kristen believes in the uniqueness of each individual. She specializes in conducting psychological and educational assessments for youth and adults, as well as, developing treatment plans targeting life and educational objectives. In her spare time, Kristen enjoys spending time with her family and dancing with Bellan Contemporary Dance Theatre in Durham.
