Fatimah R. Nubee, MA, LPA
Fatimah Nubee, Durham native, is a Licensed Psychological Associate. She received her Master’s degree in Psychology with a Clinical concentration from North Carolina Central University. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she majored in African-American studies. She is interested in integrating diverse psychotherapy theories and techniques to support individuals explore factor that affect their well-being. She has experience using cognitive behavioral therapy to help individuals manage pain and overcome insomnia. Fatimah has also been trained on how to utilize mindfulness techniques, progressive relaxation, and biofeedback to help clients deal with stress and anxiety.
Fatimah’s graduate research explored feelings of religious impostorism among Muslim adults. She is interested in helping people who may feel religious distress as a result of questioning their faith, negative experiences within their religious community, and/or feelings of spiritual deficit. She believes that the body, mind, and spirit work together and is open to exploring all aspects in psychotherapy.
In her free time, Fatimah enjoys spending time with her family, listening to podcasts, learning about how to maintain a healthy lifestyle, and watching Tarheel basketball.
