Angela Henderson is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling at Liberty University. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1982. Angela has been employed with the City of Durham since 1985. Angela is interested in providing spiritual integration counseling, helping those experiencing grief and loss, and working with families who have children with special needs.
Angela decided to return to college to pursue her Master’s Degree in Counseling after years of providing volunteer help to parents. She has served as a support parent in the Parent to Parent Matching Program for the former Family Support Network of Durham, Orange and Chatham County. She was also the support leader for the North Carolina Children’s Cardiomyopathy Foundation Support Group from 2007-2012. In this capacity, Angela conducted monthly meetings for parents and children in collaboration with Duke University Medical Center staff which included a pediatric cardiologist, nurses, social workers and child life specialists.
Angela is a wife, mother and grandmother. She and her husband are very active in their church, Greater Ransom Way of the Cross Temple in Henderson. Angela also enjoys traveling with her family and visiting museums and historic sites.
